A biodiversity hotspot and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Sinharaja Forest Reserve is located in south-west Sri Lanka. Encompassing an area of 8,864 hectares (21,903 acres), this tropical rainforest is home to a large number of endemic species of plants and animals.
A UNESCO World Heritage Site
Sinharaja Rainforest was declared a natural World Heritage Site and a Biosphere Reserve for being a treasure trove of endemic flora and fauna.
Endemic Species
The Sinharaja Forest Reserve is home to 139 out of 830 species found only in Sri Lanka, accounting for 64% of the country's endemics. Additionally, the reserve provides a habitat for various endangered species.
Flora
About 211 woody trees and lianas can be identified within this wet evergreen forest — and 139 (66%) are endemic to Sri Lanka, including 16 rare species.
Fauna
A number of endemic and endangered species can be located in Sinharaja Forest, including the Sri Lankan leopard, purple-faced Langur, Sri Lanka wood pigeon, and Sri Lanka blue magpie.
Bird Watching
A paradise for bird-watching enthusiasts and wildlife photographers, 95% of the bird species, endemic to Sri Lanka, can be observed in the forest reserve.

Yes, free parking is available for guests on site.

  • Cancellations received with 8 days or more notice, will be refunded in full less any bank charges. (If any)
  • Cancellations received with less than 7 days’ notice is subject to a 100% cancellation fee.
  • Failure to arrive at the hotel is subject to a 100% cancellation fee.

Check-in is from 02:00 PM onwards, and check-out is until 11:00 AM. You can also request for early check-in or late check-out during booking, subject to availability.

We do not encourage children under the age of six years, due to the environment of the property. However, this is at the sole discretion of parent/ guardian
